Ten senate Democrats capitulated to Trump and Musk's illegal seizure of the power of the purse:
- Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer
- Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin
- Senate Democratic Chief Deputy Whip Brian Schatz
- Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, the chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee
- Sen. Maggie Hassan
- Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto
- Sen. John Fetterman
- Sen. Gary Peters
- Sen. Jeanne Shaheen
- Sen. Angus King
By voting for cloture, these Democrats surrendered the party's only possible leverage for curtailing the DOGE regime. Musk has asserted the right to personally veto any spending duly appropriated by congress, creating an ongoing and alarming constitutional crisis. These Democrats are fine with this, and should be replaced as soon as possible.
